Charlton Jimerson got his second major league hit on Monday with a single to center in the fifth inning. Both of his hits have come while pinch hitting against the Phillies. He drilled a pinch home run in his first major league at-bat Sept. 4 at Citizens Bank Park.

Rookie Charlton Jimerson and former Astros manager Larry Dierker have birthdays today.

Jimerson will celebrate by having his wife Reza and daughter with him in attendance tonight at Minute Maid Park for the first time this season.
Jimerson's father Eugene, sister Lanette and younger brother Terrance also will watch him at Minute Maid Park for the first time today.

PHILADELPHIA — Hayward's Charlton Jimerson hit a pinch-hit home run in his first major league at-bat for Houston, but it was Chase Utley's home run in the 10th inning that lifted the Philadelphia Phillies to a 3-2 victory.

Jimerson, a former Mt. Eden High standout, pinch-hit for Roger Clemens with two outs in the sixth inning and broke up Cole Hamels' perfect game with a homer.
