Leggett Could Be Pressing

LanceLeggett
Wideout Braylon Edwards and guard Eric Steinbach didn’t report to practice Tuesday, but team spokesman Neal Gulkis said both were “working inside.”

Six-foot-3 Lance Leggett, a 24-year-old former Miami Hurricane, got extra reps in Edwards’ absence. Leggett might have been pressing a bit. On one deep throw from Brady Quinn, with no defense on the field, a ball went right through his hands.

Lance Leggett Turning Heads in Mini Camp?

LanceLeggett
Lance Leggett has attracted some notice. The 6-3 receiver was on the practice squad last season, so it's natural that he'd seem more comfortable in this setting. But he is the kind of guy who could get a chance from the new coaches.

Coach Pluto noted that Leggett, who showed some promise back in the preseason, has looked good. Leggett was one of the few non-rookies to participate at mini-camp.

Lance Leggett Camp Update

LanceLeggett
One undrafted receiver always seems to catch the eye of coaches and fans. This year, that player is Lance Leggett. He has been outrunning cornerbacks and diving to come up with the catch. He ended practice Saturday with a one-handed grab of a ball thrown behind him.

Lance Leggett Camp Update

The Plain Dealer's Tony Grossi Likes Leggett: Grossi commented on how wide receiver Lance Leggett has been making some nice catches in camp, including during the morning session. Leggett was another player who I gave zero credit to in my training camp preview.

Leggett Camp Update

LanceLeggett
Wide receiver Lance Leggett got off to a slow start during the first few days of camp, but by the time the second practice of Day 4 rolled around he started to flourish. The undrafted free agent receiver out of the University of Miami made a couple of outstanding grabs during practice. He beat the D-backs deep in zone coverage for a touchdown on one play and made a nice acrobatic one-handed catch on a pass thrown behind him on another.

Leggett was tabbed coming out of college as a player who doesn't consistently play to his ability or potential. That was blatantly obvious at times. He and rookie sixth-round draft pick Paul Hubbard both had some trouble hanging onto the ball.

Diehard Browns’ Preview: Wide Receiver

Lance Leggett - Lance comes to camp as a  big WR (6′3&PrimeWinking undrafted rookie out of Miami who has quite an uphill battle at the position.  He has the athletic ability and the skill to be a playmaker but it never really quite translated for him in college, nor is it really expected of him in the pros depending on who you ask.  He’s definitely worth a look though since Miami’s QB play hasn’t been strong the last few years and that may be part of his lack of production coming out.  The only thing with Leggett is that the Browns drafted a similar player in Paul Hubbard.
