Devin Hester has a shot at another ESPY

Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl return specialist Devin Hester will have a chance to earn another ESPY.

Hester was nominated in this year's category of Best Record-Breaking Performance for his 20th career return touchdown last season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hester returned a punt 62 yards for a score in the Falcons' 56-14 dismantling of the Bucs.

Hester, who won an ESPY in 2007 as the Best Breakthrough Athlete of the Year while with the Chicago Bears, made his record-setting moment more magical when he high stepped to the end zone in the same fashion as his mentor, Deion Sanders. Hester broke Sanders' mark that night, and Sanders was in the Georgia Dome as an NFL Network analyst to witness it.

Hester's competition for this year's award for record-breaking performance includes Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning's 509th touchdown pass, Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson's record-setting 37-point third quarter, and Oklahoma softball player Lauren Chamberlain's 91st home run.

The ESPYs are July 15.
