Rams Sign Mike Rumph

The Rams added some depth to its defensive unit with the signings of free agent linebacker Chris Draft and cornerback Mike Rumph late Monday night.

Rumph was a first-round pick by the 49ers in 2002 but has yet to live up to the hype. He started 19 games for San Francisco in four seasons before being traded to the Redskins last year for wide receiver Taylor Jacobs.

Rumph has been labeled as "soft" and "uninterested" but the Rams hope he will be able to shed those labels and help in their secondary.
