Tim George Jr.WASHINGTON, DC (June 16, 2011) — Potomac Family Dining Group (PFDG) announced today that it will be the primary sponsor for the remainder of the 2011 racing season of Tim George Jr., driver of the No. 31 Richard Childress Racing (RCR) Chevrolet in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. The PFDG sponsorship commences with the Rain Eater 200 at Michigan International Speedway this weekend.
The Washington, D.C.- based restaurant group is the exclusive franchisee of 30 Applebee’s® restaurants in southern Maryland, northern Virginia, and parts of West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
In addition to sponsoring George’s ARCA Racing Series entry, PFDG will also be the primary sponsor for three NASCAR Nationwide races in 2011 – on the high banks of Daytona and on the road course at both Watkins Glen and Montreal. PDFG will also be on George’s Camping World Truck Series entry at later this season.
PFDG first appeared as the primary sponsor on George’s Chevrolet at Talladega Superspeedway in April in both the ARCA and Nationwide Series events and again in the ARCA race at Chicagoland Speedway earlier this month.
George brings a new-found momentum to Michigan International Speedway this week having scored his first career ARCA Series victory at Pocono Raceway last weekend, his third top-five finish in the last five races.
