THE BATTLE OF MIAMI
The 3rd ranked University of Miami Hurricanes beat the Miami (Ohio) Redskins 54-3 in front of 40,128 Orange bowl fans !
UMSHoF member Steve Walsh passed for 4 touchdowns on 18 of 26 passing for 216 yards. UMSHoF member Michael Irvin had 5 catches for 49 yards and a TD, UMSHoF member Melvin Bratton had one catch for 35 yards and a TD. Cleveland Gary and Warren Williams also caught touchdown passes.
UMSHoF members George Mira, Jr., Greg Mark and Dan Stubbs led the defense that held to Redskins 51 total yards, including MINUS 19 yards rushing !
